Rockford Art Museum (RAM) hosts an outdoor workshop and walking tour of downtown Rockford with Estonian street photographer Terttu Uibopuu from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.
The afternoon program starts with a tour of the traveling exhibition of her work, currently on view through November 11 at RAM. Organized by University Galleries at Illinois State University and curated by Rockford native Jason Judd, E.S.E. (East South East) features 25 photographs that reveal people and places in Estonia, New York, and Rockford.
“Terttu’s subjects embody a quiet resilience in the face of daily adversity amidst long-term recovery from political occupation, natural disaster, or recession – and offer a glimpse into a world where perseverance is commonplace,” wrote Judd.
Cost for the workshop is $30 per person and participants should bring their own camera. For more information and to register call (815) 968-2787 or go to rockfordartmuseum.org. Connect with other participants at facebook.com/rockfordartmuseum.
