March - May 2022 | 81st Annual Young Artist Show

High School Division

The High School Division of the Young Artist Show runs from March 13th through April 10th and entries are accepted from students who attend Illinois or Wisconsin public, private, or home schools, grades 9–12, within a 50-mile radius of Rockford Art Museum. Here are important dates for teachers:

  • March 13: High School Division Exhibition opens, awards presented at 2:00pm on social media
  • April 10: High School Division Exhibition closes
  • April 12 – 15: Artwork pick-up
YOUTH DIVISION

The Youth Division of the Young Artist Show runs from April 24th through May 15th and entries are accepted from students who attend public, private, or homeschools in Winnebago County serving grades K-8. Here are important dates for teachers:

  • March 28: Inventory sheets emailed by this date
  • April 1 – 10: Artwork drop-off
  • April 24: Youth Division Exhibition opens
  • May 15: Youth Division Exhibition closes
  • May 16 – 20: Artwork pick-up

APRIL 2022 | Teen Employment Opportunity

Rockford Art Museum has been selected for the Summer Youth Employment in the Arts grant through the Illinois Arts Council Agency. RAM is now taking applications for two high school students to work as Museum Assistants for June-September of 2022. If you are interested this opportunity, please fill out an application below! September 17 + 18, 2022 | Volunteers needed

Rockford Art Museum’s 74th Annual Greenwich Village Art Fair is happening on Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th, 2022. As always we are seeking volunteer support from students to help with the Creations by Kids tent. Students will volunteer in 2-hour shifts to help young visitors with crafts, take tickets, and keep the art tent tidy. Interested students are encouraged to fill out our Student Volunteer Form.

November 15, 2022 | Portfolio Day

High school teachers, mark your calendars for our annual Portfolio Day event! Students will have the opportunity to visit with arts professionals and discover the possibilities available for a career in the visual and graphic arts! Free student portfolio reviews are provided by many local and regional colleges and universities.

  • December 2022: Information packets sent out and become available for download on this page
  • March 12, 2023: High School Division Exhibition opens, awards ceremony at 2:00pm
  • April 8, 2023: High School Division Exhibition closes
YOUTH DIVISION

The 2023 Youth Division of the Young Artist Show will run from Sunday, April 23rd through Sunday, May 21st and entries are accepted from students who attend public, private, or homeschools in Winnebago County serving grades K-8. Here are important dates for teachers:

  • February 2023: Information packets sent out and become available for download on this page
  • April 23, 2023: Youth Division Exhibition opens, awards ceremony at 2:00pm
  • May 21, 2023: Youth Division Exhibition closes, Deborah Newton Award Ceremony (time TBA)
