Corporeal Music

Corporeal Music

Ranging from explicit and realistic to loose and indistinct, these paintings and drawings express the continually evolving role of the human figure in contemporary art. The figure has long been a central focal point of art, and one of the greatest challenges and inspirations artists encounter. Corporeal Music compares eight different examples of figurative work across a range of mediums and styles. The variety of ways in which these artists portray the human body can be seen as representative of the complexity of the human experience and the artistic tradition of imagining humanity as the center of everything.
