Made in the Midwest is a new exhibition series spotlighting recent works of art from regional artists. These intimately-sized solo exhibitions will examine the methods and meaning behind their exhibited works, and provide a vivid snapshot of each artist’s current practice. The first Made in the Midwest exhibition features the Elgin, Illinois painter Angelina Diana. Inspired by the complexity and density of networks in nature, Diana creates abstract environments by amassing colorful, textural marks between layers of epoxy resin. Join us for a discussion between the artist and curator exploring the processes, themes, and ideas that went into the creation of this exhibition.
