COVID-19 Closure Update: Rockford Art Museum temporarily closed, effective 5 p.m., Saturday, March 14

Effective 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, Rockford Art Museum is temporarily closed until further notice—and all events, classes and programs at RAM are cancelled or postponed.

After yesterday’s announcement of statewide school closures, and as part of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s ask for communities to aggressively expand social distancing efforts to limit exposure, all Rockford Park District facilities, events, programs, and rentals are suspended effective immediately.

This includes Rockford Art Museum, located inside the Riverfront Museum Park building at 711 North Main Street in downtown Rockford, which is also home to Discovery Center Museum, Rockford Dance Company and Rockford Symphony Orchestra. Burpee Museum of Natural History is located next door.

Rockford Art Museum and the Rockford Park District have been following and supporting guidelines and recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD) and the City of Rockford, and will continue to do so until this health emergency subsides.

We are constantly monitoring news and recommendations, as they change daily and sometimes hourly. Please regularly check our website, rockfordartmuseum.org, and Facebook page, facebook.com/rockfordartmuseum, for updates.

Thank you for your support.
