Tileston was born in Manila, Philippines; she received her BA in 1983 from Yale University (New Haven, Conn.) and her MFA in painting in 1988 from Indiana University in Bloomington. She is represented in several permanent collections, including Dallas Museum of Art and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; she currently teaches at the University of Pennsylvania.
