Multi-media abstract artist David Lozano has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the country, including a recent group show curated by Kerry James Marshall, where critics wrote “Sublime subjects, pop aesthetics, and the beautiful mundane clash with the erotic in Lozano’s lush paintings.” He has received a number of awards and grants, including a Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant Award in 2004. Lozano received his BFA from the University of Houston in Texas and MFA from University of Illinois at Chicago; he currently teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
