A representational painter inspired by the WPA and Regionalist artists of the 1930s, Dan Brinkmeier’s personal artwork often represents the spiritual connections that rural Midwestern people find within their landscape, and the small ceremonies and rituals performed by Illinois farmers in their everyday lives.
The Secret World of Dan Brinkmeier is organized by Rockford Art Museum Chief Curator, Carrie Johnson. The exhibition is sponsored by Women’s Art Board and partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
