Space is limited, so registration is required below. Each session requires a minimum of 5 participants for the camp to run. Participants will be notified of cancellation one week in advance if the camp does not meet minimum registration.

What does it mean to be an artist? How do I know when my piece is done? What should I include in my portfolio reviews? Join us for this weeklong workshop to explore the answers to these questions and push your art to the next level! (Participants must prepare a portfolio for this session: 5–15 pieces.)
POWER OF PRINT: INTRODUCTION TO PRINTMAKING (HIGH SCHOOL)

Join us for a weeklong deep dive into the many forms of printmaking, from the conception of a block print to a finished product. Learn the basics of printmaking and the philosophies behind creating usable, sustainable goods by making multiples for a mass audience. Prepare to carve, ink and print your own products in this introductory workshop.

Join us for a week of weaving as we discover how to create and work a loom, thread a shuttle, and create color changing yarn. Learn how to break down objects into simple shapes when drawing and explore the variety of fiber weights and textures to complete a woven wall hanging of your own!

Join us as we explore the ancient world of shadow puppetry. Learn about how stories have been passed down over generations with the help of some puppet friends and discover how light and simple found objects can combine to make something beautiful!

FAIRIES, MONSTERS & CASTLES (GRADES 1–8)

Join us for a week of constructing fabric monsters, clay fairies and cardboard castles as we explore using recycled materials in sculpture. Let your most adventuresome daydreams take shape with recycled materials. You may be inspired to save your paper towel rolls and shoeboxes for the rest of the summer!
UPDATES TO CAMPS AT ROCKFORD ART MUSEUM
Your child’s health, and the health of our staff, is of the utmost importance. Our team has made modifications to our summer camps in accordance with Winnebago County Health Department guidelines and industry best practices. In particular, we will follow Restore Illinois COVID-19 2020 Day Camp guidelines, and protocols may be updated as needed.
SOME CAMP UPDATES INCLUDE:
- Smaller group sizes
- Increased handwashing and access to hand sanitizer and wipes
- Temperature checks, individuals with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be unable to attend camp
- Social distancing within classroom whenever possible
- All staff and participants will be required to wear face coverings over their mouth and nose (exceptions can be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering)
Rockford Art Museum is an active participant in the citywide CLEAN HANDS, OPEN DOORS program.

Classes, including camps, take place at Rockford Art Museum and fill on a first-come, first served basis. Registration ends 48 hours prior to start date. Classes with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled one week prior to start date. RAM reserves the right to limit enrollments or cancel any class (full refund provided), and every effort will be made to notify registrants if the class is cancelled. If a participant cancels their enrollment, a full refund will be provided only if made prior to 1 week before the class.
