Taught by local yoga instructor Taunia May in the museum galleries, this new program is open to students of all skill levels. Following each hourlong yoga session will be a free tasting from a local vendor, including Bucha Bar (kombucha) in February and March. Bring your own mat.

Rockford Art Museum now offers monthly Figure Drawing courses led by artist Ian Morrison. Figure Drawing courses will be the last Thursday of each month (except June and November) from 6-8pm in RAM’s Classroom 2. Each class is $15 each and includes instruction, model and paper. Students will need the following supplies: compressed charcoal sticks, conte crayon in sanguine/black/gray/white, charcoal pencils, kneaded eraser, blending sticks, drawing graphite pencils (2b,6b,hb,h,2h,4h), chamois, and vine/willow charcoal. Limited supply boxes will be available to rent for $5 each at the door. Registration is required and a limited number of spots are available.
Plein Air with Zach Kolbe

10AM-12PM, $25 Non Member, $20 Member
Join Artist Zachary Kolbe for this 2-hour plein air summer series. Paint scenes from the Rockford Art Museum campus and Riverwalk. Students must provide their own paint and canvas, limited supply boxes available for rent. Reccommended supplies: hat, water bottle, sunscreen, bugspray, pochade or french easel, tape, clip on cup, paper towels, rubber gloves, Goache/watercolor/acrylic paint(white, lemon yellow, flame medium red, ultramarine blue, sap gree, burnt umber), brushes (6 round, 12 flat, 20 flat), canvas/illustration board.
