Local fashion boutique b jones hosts a one-day shopping event on Friday, Nov. 16, to benefit Rockford Art Museum (RAM). Fifteen percent of all sales made from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be donated to the museum to help support RAM programs. The boutique is located at Edgebrook Shops, 1655 N. Alpine Rd., Rockford. Rockford Art Museum presents its 14th annual art college fair, Portfolio Day, on Monday, November 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with admissions representatives from colleges and universities on site to meet with students. Free admission, free portfolio reviews for students; no registration required.

Rockford Art Museum (RAM) hosts an outdoor workshop and walking tour of downtown Rockford with Estonian street photographer Terttu Uibopuu from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.  

Rockford Art Museum (RAM) opens new art exhibition Dwellings on Friday, October 12, with a preview reception for museum members and exhibiting artists from 5 to 7:30 p.m. that includes a gallery walk with the artists, followed by a free public opening until 8:30 p.m. at RAM, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. Sponsored in part by Larson & Darby and Women's Art Board, the exhibition remains on view through January 27, 2019. 

Two photography exhibits are on view at Rockford Art Museum (RAM) during Rockford Area Arts Council’s Fall ArtScene. RAM extends its regular hours until 9 p.m. and offers free admission Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6 for the 31st annual event.

“Aimee has a strong record of successfully leading teams through big-budget projects that we believe position her well for leading Rockford Art Museum,” RAM Board President David Boccignone said.  

The 2018 Women’s Art Board Luncheon features a one-woman performance by book reviewer Jenny Riddle who will bring to life characters from J. Randy Taraborrelli’s book Jackie, Janet and Lee. This popular fundraiser includes a silent auction, raffle, books and pop-up gift shop with items from the Rockford Art Museum Store. Doors and auction open at 11 am, luncheon and program begin at 12 pm. Limited seating, reservations required by Oct. 10. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 per table of 10. Exhibiting at this year’s 70th Greenwich Village Art Fair (Sept. 15–16, 2018 at Rockford Art Museum, 711 N. Main St., Rockford) are 115 artists from around the region and across the nation. Types of artwork represented include paintings, jewelry, sculpture, glass, ceramics, textiles, photography, wood, mixed media, and more.

Artists annually compete for awards on the first day of the fair, where their work was viewed by 2018 Judge George William Price. Awards were presented to:  

The 70th Greenwich Village Art Fair (GVAF) takes place Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 16—rain or shine—on the grounds of Rockford Art Museum (RAM) at Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., in downtown Rockford, Illinois. The annual two-day outdoor event features 115 juried artists, live music by local musicians, an artisan marketplace, children's art activities, and more. Established in 1948, Greenwich is the longest running art fair of its kind in the Midwest. Gates are open 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday. Admission at the gate is $7 for adults, free for children 12 and younger.
