In light of Governor Pritzker’s new restrictions to limit activities indoors, effective Friday, November 20, Rockford Art Museum galleries are temporarily closed until further notice.
We are committed to the health of our employees and community and we hope that our actions will help decrease the spread of COVID-19.
We are saddened by the cancelation of our exciting Art in Bloom event that was scheduled for December 3 through December 6. We are also disheartened that the museum has to close during the Rockford Midwestern Biennial exhibition but we are committed to taking our shows virtually and we will continue to share educational videos, tours and artwork through our social media outlets and our free Rockford Art Museum app.
Rockford Art Museum has been following and supporting guidelines and recommendations made by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD), and the City of Rockford, and will continue to do so until this health emergency subsides.
We are constantly monitoring news and recommendations, as they change daily and sometimes hourly. Please regularly check our website,, and Facebook page,
