The Japanese aesthetic “wabi-sabi” is one of beauty that is characterized by humility, restraint, simplicity, naturalism, imperfections and asymmetry. The technique of pinching clay likewise has a long history of making charming pottery of the most graceful and delightful objects. This method doesn’t requires any major equipment. With a little practice, you will discover how much control you can have with clay.  In this class we will explore the versatility of the process and the sophistication that can be achieved.

Together we will make several forms that after firing you can pick them up at the Museum. Two hour class, all materials provided.
