Wolf River

In an era before Photoshop, digital cameras and iPhones, Jachna radically manipulated and distorted what the camera recorded, creating photographs—with only a selection of lenses, mirrors, and his own body parts—that broke the traditional boundaries of landscape photography. A student of Siskind and Callahan at the Illinois Institute of Design, Jachna is now professor emeritus at the University of Chicago.
