The Rockford Art Museum Board of Trustees officially launched the I AM RAM campaign to support growth for the museum’s endowment fund today, with a goal set for $500,000.
Trustee Anita Layng announced the launch, followed by the announcement by trustee Lisa Lindman of major pledged gifts to the fund by two local donors that total $250,000. The combined gift, made by the Lon and Dick Behr Foundation and the Funderburg Foundation, means the campaign has already reached its halfway mark. Endowment Committee Chair Rob Funderburg invited the community to participate by contributing to the fund.
Rockford Art Museum was established by the community in 1913 to help make life better in the Rockford region through a permanent art collection, frequent art exhibitions, and lifelong art education – a mission it adheres to today. “The Board of Trustees began the RAM Endowment Fund to help ensure lasting financial support, now and for future generations,” said Linda Dennis, executive director of Rockford Art Museum.
Donations may be made to the fund several ways, including online at rockfordartmuseum.org, by phone at (815) 968-2787, or by mail to RAM at 711 North Main Street, Rockford, Illinois 61103.
