Rockford Art Museum offers immersive educational experiences to select participants through its competitive internship program. While internships are unpaid positions they may be tailored to fulfill certain course requirements within a specific program of study or provide valuable work experience to recent graduates. Interns may be matched with one or more museum departments:

Curatorial
interns work in a variety of areas related to feature exhibitions and permanent collection management. Curatorial interns will report to the Curator and work with the Registrar.

Education interns may work with art education staff to help develop programming related to exhibitions and for outreach programs. Education interns will report to the Education Coordinator.

Graphic Design interns work on numerous projects and publications that are created in-house at RAM. Graphic Design interns will report to the Marketing Communications + Design position and may work with all departments, including several support groups and committees.

Public Relations / Fund Development interns may work on a variety of projects including distribution of news releases and publications, and database management for print, electronic and new media contacts. Interns will also research, source and update guidelines from granting agencies, foundations and corporations. Public Relations / Fund Development interns report to the Community Relations position and may work with all departments, including several support groups and committees.
